Le Chemin de fer NORD NORD Railway

The Friday Night Group came to visit on December 13, 2013.  This pushed the construction crews to clean up the construction sites and push construction past Cabonga Jonction, where it had stalled for months.

One more gap crossing stood in the path of progress.  How would this bridge fold or swing or lift out of the way?  At what elevations should the ends of bridge be?  The matter was resolved for the immediate by building a non-dropping, non-swinging, non-lifting bridge.  The Nord Railway crew simply bridged the gap, which resolved all questions about elevations.  With the gap crossed, the crew could quickly lay temporary mainline track northward to lo and behold join the existing southbound end of track.

David Primeau was the engineer on the first official northbound train.  One of the CEO’s favourite CLC Trainmaster locomotives, # 240 pulled the short consist of one baggage car and two coaches.
